Why do we get numbness in legs when we sit for long?

There are several possible reasons why you might experience numbness when you sit for too long.

  • One possibility is that we are cutting off the blood
supply to our legs or feet, which can cause numbness
    or tingling.
  • This can happen if you sit in a position that puts pressure on our legs or feet, or
if we cross our legs while sitting. If we stretch our legs the feeling will come back naturally.
  • Another possibility is that you are compressing a nerve in your leg or foot, which can cause numbness or tingling.
  • This can happen if you sit in a position that puts pressure on a nerve, or if you wear tight clothing that compresses a nerve. When our nerves are squeezed so badly they let our body know it by going to sleep completely or get numb.
  • The feeling disappears except for a sharp tingling sensation. It helps if we massage the legs gently but if we do it when they are tingling it gives a funny feel.
  • Also possible that you are experiencing numbness due to a medical condition, such as nerve damage or a circulation problem. If anyone is experiencing numbness on a regular basis, it is a good idea to see a doctor to determine the cause.
